Tokyo Takeover Pop Up Space Launch

To celebrate our brands love for Japanese culture and all things kawaii, this November we are holding a 'Tokyo Takeover', where we will be transforming the Lazy Oaf Store into the ultimate Japanese shopping experience. Teaming up with some of our favourite Tokyo friends, we will be showcasing original Japanese product including womenswear, menswear, artwork, confectionery and magazines. Tokyo womenswear label Little Sunny Bite will be making a European debut selling a limited selection of their AW'14 collection featuring collaborative illustrations by UK artist Hattie Stewart. Hattie will be joining us on the night with some live illustration, recreating some of her artwork on the walls and window of our store. She will also be applying her signature cover art illustrations to Japanese magazines that will be up for grabs on the night! Two of our favourite Tokyo based artists Chika Takei, of Tokyo Illustrators Society, and UK born Bunny Bissoux, have also created exclusive limited artwork for the space that will be available to purchase in store. For Chika, after hosting a solo summer exhibition in Tokyo earlier this year, this is the first time her work will be available outside of Japan. We have also teamed up with the UK's largest Japanese supermarket Japan Centre to fill the store with an array of authentic Japanese confectionary, magazines and giftware which will be available to purchase throughout the space's duration. Keeping it all things Japan, there will also be complimentary Asahi beer through the night. The Tokyo Takeover event is happening in conjunction with Carnaby's 20% Christmas Shopping Party in association with Grazia so you'll get 20% off all purchases on the night and we will be snapping streetstyles so think Harajuku and you may get featured on our Instagram !
